Sinking Cities: Cultural Heritage as a transformational resource
For The City Science Lab at HafenCity University Hamburg and the Research Institute for Sustainability Potsdam (RIFS) we designed and coordinate a two-year research project in Alexandria (Egypt), Jakarta (Indonesia) and Bremen (Germany). The project started in 2024 and brings cultural and community organizations in the three metropolises together to realize public programs to address the challenges of climate adaptation to the respective communities. CCA was involved in the development of the scientific structure of the research, co-authored the funding applications, selected the local partners and co-creates, coordinates and accompanies the local activities.
